So I keep on hearing or reading that I should consider a life insurance policy for myself and/or my family, but I am not quote sure which type, how much I need, etc. This article hopes to answer some of those questions for you! First of all, why should I be concern about life insurance? The answer is that it will provide valuable income for your spouse, children, or loved ones. Life insurance may also provide valuable coverage if you are a business owner and want your business to keep running in the event you pass away suddenly. Our Agency provides all types of life insurance coverages and policies. We can find one that is right for you. The best time to buy life insurance is when you think you won't need it and are in good health. The rate you will pay for your life insurance is lower the better your health is. So don't delay!
A personal story, I was raised the youngest of 7 children with a great family environment, with lots of love and excitement that you would expect with a family of 7 children. Life was going along normally, or what I thought was normal until the day we got the dreaded call that my father had passed away unexpectedly. He died all of a sudden from a massive heart attack while he was at work, back in 1975. My mother was at a loss for what to do, as she had never had to be in charge of a family with 7 children like she was on that dreaded day.
What to do? Where to turn? How was I going to pay the bills? All these questions ran through her mind. Luckily for my mother, my father had purchased a life insurance policy about 16 months before, and boy did that make a difference! Not only was I able to go to the same school I had grown up in since the first grade, I was able to start the 6th grade with all my friends, etc. I guess I was looking at life insurance from a little person's perspective. Having lost my father at a very young age, left a scar and emotional dent that stayed with me for years. But looking back now 44 years ago, I can honestly say that the life insurance helped keep our life normal, at least as normal as it could be. My mom was able to stay in the same house, pay tuition at the same Catholic grade school, pay for my football cleats so I could play on the same football team, etc.
So please don't delay, we never know when our time will come. We have to make preparations now while we can. Just like doing your will, going to the doctor for a check-up, we should all make plans to have our life insurance in place. Once you do it, you will be glad you did!
